* The FY 2014 Consolidated Appropriations Act changed the definition of extremely low-income to be the greater of 30/50ths (60 percent) of the Section 8 very low-income limit or the poverty guidelines as established by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), provided that this amount is not greater than the Section 8 50% very low-income limit. Consequently, the extremely low income limits may equal the very low (50%) income limits.

Applications for the Housing Choice Voucher Program are accepted only when the waitlist is open. Openings will be advertised on our home page.
Wait times can be anywhere between two to seven years.
Please note: Income-Based Housing Assistance (IBHA) waitlist opens on May 24. Applications will be accepted beginning May 24.

Please keep your contact information up to date. Create your portal account 24 hours after submitting your application to keep your information up to date and check your waitlist status. If we are unable to make contact, you will be removed from the waitlist.
When your application reaches the top of the waitlist, a pre-application packet will be sent to you by regular mail and is due back within 10 business days of the mailing date.
When an applicant’s name reaches the top of the waitlist, they will receive a letter with instructions on how to begin the eligibility process. Information provided to Opportunity Home by the applicant will be verified for accuracy and eligibility.
